I fell in love with a boy.
I gave my heart to him, and he held it loosely in the palm of his hand and let it slip. He knew from the get-go that there was no way he would make me ‘his girl’.. and yet he continued to treat me as if I were. He said things like ‘you’re all mine’, he gave me stupid pet names and gave me hope..
Dear God,
I learnt my lesson. I now leave it up to you to diminish the pain in my chest day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second.. Please give me the strength to endure this and overcome the obstacles I’ve left behind and are yet to face..
..and from the bottom of my heart, please let him be the one for me..
But if he’s not, please don’t let me make the mistake of giving up my heart so soon.
